NDRC extends 10 billion yuan to construct ensuring housing

A central subsidy of 10 billion yuan has been extended to speed up the construction of low-rent housing and renovation projects in shanty towns in forests, reclamation areas and coal mines, the National Development and Reform Committee (NDRC) said on Wednesday.

NDRC underscored that local authorities should strengthen the construction work and capital management of the ensuring housing projects and speed up the construction schedule in a bid to help low-income families move in a well-accommodated house in an earlier time.

The move is one of the major measures taken by the central government to broaden domestic demand and to bolster the stable and relatively fast development of national economy.
