Banks are urged to offer flexible loans

CHINA'S lenders have been urged to be flexible and innovative concerning loan repayment from smaller companies.

The China Banking Regulatory Commission yesterday said it is trying to help small companies facing financing difficulties by extending loan periods. A notice sent to various lenders said banks and small firms could stipulate terms in loan contracts that would allow the borrower to file a new request for a credit checkup before the loan is due.
