Macau's trade gap

MACAU recorded a trade deficit of 27.01 billion patacas (US$3.4 billion) last year, with the export-import ratio down from 47.4 percent in 2007 to 37.2 percent, according to data released yesterday by its Statistics and Census Service.

The figures showed the value of merchandise exports to the Chinese mainland decreased by 35.1 percent year on year.
