Demand to boost H3C revenue

HANGZHOU H3C Technologies Co Ltd plans to increase revenue by 20-30 percent this year, the telecommunications firm said yesterday.

H3C, which provides integrated network, storage, security and monitoring systems, generated revenue of 10 billion yuan (US$1.47 billion) last year, 15 times more than five years ago.

"In the tough environment, enterprise clients do cut investment on IT infrastructure but they have increased investment on network expansion and related services," said Nono Yip, H3C's senior marketing manager.

In Shanghai, H3C's annual revenue growth rate was 40 percent last year and will be even higher over the next two years, fueled by World Expo 2010, said Ding Zhonghua, H3C's Shanghai office director.

The company has been chosen as suppliers for Expo's video monitors, security systems and for the city's wireless Internet project.
