SHANGHAI is mulling incentives to eliminate outdated and high-polluting vehicles, industry sources told Shanghai Daily.

The government is looking to offer subsidies or favorable purchase tax to consumers who replace their high-polluting vehicles - including those that fail to meet the nation's first generation of emission standards.
