PetroChina's Changqing Oilfield reports rising oil output

PetroChina's Changqing Oilfield in Northwest China's Shaanxi Province has produced a total of 100.0209 million tons of crude oil and 45.989 billion cubic meters of natural gas by July 28.

PetroChina hails that the oilfield is emerging as a major oil/gas production base in China.

From 2000 to 2007, Changqing rolled out 57.0182 million tons of crude and 42.754 billion cubic meters of natural gas, respectively 1.35 and 17 times more than the totals for the previous 30 years.

Changqing's significance will be further reinforced at the end of 2007, when its output will hit signpost 20 million tons of oil equivalents.
