Taiwan Businessmen Are Bullish on Investment in Ningxia
Business opportunities in agriculture, energy and tourism in north-west China's Ningxia region are luring more and more Taiwan businessmen to make investments.
At a recent economic co-operation forum held in Yinchuang, the capital city of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Taiwan businessmen showed their keen interest in investing in the region.
Organic agriculture, stockbreeding and food-processing industries, as well as the energy production endeavours of coal-fired power, wind power and solar power were the most favourable areas of possible investment.
Taiwan businessmen also showed their interest in investing in the local cuisine of Ningxia, which has the largest population of Hui ethnic groups in China.
So far, Ningxia has accumulatively approved the establishment of over 68 Taiwan enterprises, totalling 13 million US dollars of contractual capital in the region. In 2006, Ninxia-Taiwan trade amounted to 2.56 million US dollars.
