Automatic-transmission Shuanghuan Noble to go on sale in August

Shuanghuan Automobile Co. Ltd will start to sell 1.1 Liter Noble cars with automatic transmission system in August, Chinese media reported.

Citing sources from a Shuanghuan dealer, auto industry Website Cheshi.com.cn reported that the automatic transmission Noble model will be priced lower than 56,000 yuan ($7,677), some 10,000 yuan higher than the current Noble 1.1L manual transmission model.

Beside Shuanghuan, Chery Automobile has also launched a QQ3 Auto transmission model, whose transmission system is provided by Fiat's component maker Magneti Marelli. The two models will compete directly in China's mini car segment.

Last October Shuanghuan announced to sell its 1.1-liter Noble in Europe, which will be priced above 9,000 euros in Italy. Daimler AG accused Shuanghuan Nobel of plagiarizing its Smart ForTwo. Shuanghuan denied the accusation.
