China's foreign trade in motor vehicles drop in Jan
China's foreign trade in motor vehicles was US$6.16 billion in January, according to the General Administration of Customs on Wednesday.
The import value was US$2.17 billion, up 10.88% over the corresponding period of last year, but down 23.27% from the previous month, while the export value was US$3.99 billion, surged 44.63% over the same month of the previous year, and dropped 6.52% from the month earlier.
The arrivals of the whole vehicles kept the continued fast growth year-on-year, but the import volume of engines and spare parts largely declined from December 2007, according to sources with the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
Foreign sales of buses and cars kept the fast growth as compared with the previous year, and the export of engines and spare parts remained a steady pace, according to the sources.
