Mizuho to open more branches on mainland China
Tokyo-based Mizuho Corporate Bank (MHCB), the second largest financial institution in Japan, announced on Monday that it would launch 4 more branches on Chinese mainland this year, said its managing executive officer Hidetake Nakanura at a financial forum.
The new branches will be located in Qingdao, Guangzhou, Wuhan and Suzhou, while Qingdao and Guangzhou branches have already been approved by the China Banking Regulatory Commission.
MHCB China, set up in Shanghai in 2007, currently operates four representative offices and five branches on the Mainland, covering Shanghai, Shenzhen, Beijing, Dalian, Wuxi and Tianjin. Its business in China accounts nearly 30% of its total Asian business.
