NDRC: Massive coal exports not encouraged

Despite the great coal output in China, massive coal exports are not encouraged for the sake of ensuring the need of the domestic market, said Mu Hong, vice director of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) at a press conference on May. 28.

With respect to the imports and exports of oil products, Mu said that about 47% of China's oil consumption now relies on imports from the external market, and the proportion is pretty high. Under this circumstance, it is unadvisable to enlarge export, while adopting more energy saving measures is a more positive way, according to Mu.
