Shanxi aims to produce coal 0.68 bln tonnes

Shanxi produced 0.33 billion tonnes of coal in the first half. Task for the second half of 2008 would be producing 0.35 billion tonnes so that the project total of the year is 0.68 billion tonnes.

The first half's product increased 14.08% year-on-year. Shanxi output 0.18 billion tonnes of steam coal, with a year-on-year increase of 19%. That’s 55% of total amount of raw coal produced.

However, the country requires more than 0.8 billion tonnes of coal from Shanxi this year on contrary to the rated capacity of 0.59 billion tonnes, which means despite overloaded, supply is still 0.2 billion tonnes short form demand.
