Anhui's coal output break 100 mln tonnes

Anhui has produced over 100 million tonnes of raw coal up to Nov 10, the first time for the eastern coastal province to rank among eight provinces with coal output above 100 million tonnes.

Huainan Mining Group contributed as much as 50 million tonnes in Jan-Oct, according to statistical data¡£

The output of raw coal in Anhui has maintained an annual growth of 6.7% since 2002, thanks to the efforts to ensure sufficient energy supply for accelerated economic development.

Moreover, the Anhui provincial government is working to bring their abundant coal resources and regional advantages into full play. The province has phased out a batch of small and backward coal mines in recent years. At the same time, it also has accelerated construction and expansion to key state-owned mines.

Anhui produced 93.7 million tonnes coal in 2007, up from 47.83 million tonnes in 2000.
