China Shenhua Energy Co., Ltd., one of the nation's leading coal producers Shenhua Group, sold 19 million tons of coal in October 2008, climbing 9.2% from a year earlier, but the total export volume fell 41.2% to 1 million tons.

The company will be permitted to export 6.55 million tons of coal in the coming months this year, in accord with the latest coal export quotas made by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), China's macro-economy regulator.

Shenhua Energy and its subsidiaries aggregately exported 16.4 million tons of coal from January to October, and their total export volume for the entire 2008 is predicted to beat 20 million tons, citing the Shanghai-listed company's announcement.
