China Henan tells small mines to suspend output

China's Henan provincial government asked coal mines with production capacity of 300,000 tonnes or less to suspend output, according to a statement on the website of the Coal Industry Administration Bureau of Henan.

The Henan provincial government asked coal administration agencies to closely monitor activities at such mines, the website (www.hnmt.gov.cn) said.

It did not give details on how long these mines should remain closed, or under what conditions production could be resumed.
