Huanneng starts new power plant in Anhui
The first-phase generating units of Chaohu Power Plant built by China's largest electricity producer China Huaneng Group, also the parent company of Huaneng Power International, have gone into operation in Anhui after the 168-hour trial run of the No.2 generator set.
The environmental protection facilities including desulfuration are also put into operation.
The first phase construction, starting on March 1, 2007, includes two 600,000-KW supercritical coal-fired units, with an investment of 3.6 billion yuan and an area/capacity of only 0.179 square meters per KW.
This is the first power plant invested by Huaneng in East China's Anhui Province. It plans to install four 600,000-KW generators.
