CNPC '08 overseas crude output at record 62.2 mln tons

The overseas crude output of China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC), China's largest oil and gas producer, hit a new record of 62.2 mln tons in 2008.

The company also produced a record 6.7 bln cubic meters of natural gas overseas, it said in a statement on its website.

CNPC made new discoveries in Chad, Kazakhstan, Sudan, Oman and Indonesia last year.

In addition, the company increased its crude processing to 125 million tons in 2008.
