Shenhua invests 1 bln yuan in Xinjiang coal project

China's largest coal producer Shenhua Group recently invested one billion yuan in building a 3-million-tonne per year coal project in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Chinamining reported Monday.

Located in Manas County, the coal project covers an area of 8.25 square kilometers with coal reserves of 473 million tonne.

Total investment in the project is expected to reach 970 million yuan, it said.

The project, upon full operation, would realize an annual output value of 400 million yuan.
