Shanghai Film eyes A-share IPO
Shanghai Film Group Corp (SFG), one of China's largest and most powerful film groups, is eyeing an initial public offering in the domestic stock market, sources cited its president Ren Zhonglun as saying.
The company plans to list its market resource assets with a total value of at least RMB 1 billion, including cinema chains, distribution and sales units, which have good profitability, Ren said, but there is no timetable for the listing plan to date.
SFG comprises Shanghai Film Studio, the Shanghai Animation Film Studio, Shanghai Dubbing Studio and Shanghai Science & Educational Film Studio as well as Shanghai Film Laboratory. Its box office revenue consistently ranks first in the country, making it the most influential cinema chain in the country.
